Alex McIntosh

Alex McIntosh develops ideas that began to be explored during the artist’s MA - the dynamic between the viewer’s imagination and the space they experience.

“I was fascinated with the manner in which darkness changes our understand of a space, making a space less sharp and defined, and allowing the imagination to fill in the gaps that lead me to the motif of the forest.”

With their seemingly limitless number of trees-trunks and leaves shrouding the boundaries from the viewer, the work often alternates from being wholly photographic to abstraction.
