Alison Shurville is an artist inspired by physical landscapes and extensive travels across the globe. Landscape has been the focus of her practice since completing her Fine Art Printmaking degree at Brighton University. She uses printmaking and drawing to evoke an emotional response to ephemeral environmental states. From the glaciers of Patagonia to the mountains in the UK her processes aim to record scale, mass, movement and senses through investigating nature.
Shurville captures fleeting moments using drawing and photography as a catalyst for discovery and intuitive reaction. Returning to the studio she may explore spit bite, aquatint, drypoint and monotype depending on what she sees fit.
