Based in East London, Alyssa Warren works across several media, including printmaking, photography, collage and fiction. Her first novel, Not the Only Sky, a coming-of-age story about a photographer, was published in 2017 by Black and White. Her process-led photographic and printmaking practices are also interlinked. Using mostly analogue means, including a variety of handmade and vintage cameras, she explores the intersection of photography and printmaking with photoetchings and other alternative process darkroom techniques. The exhibited etchings, which depict extreme closeups of light and shadow captured in still lives composed of glass, were created with a handmade 20x24x16-inch wooden pinhole camera, a scanner and light-sensitive solar plates.
