Chrissie Craig

Chrissie Craig's work explores themes of absence, memory and loss, often using photographs as a point of departure. She is interested in examining the passing of time not just in the context of personal memory but in a wider social and cultural sense and her research involves the collection of oral histories and memorabilia as well as physical objects and found surfaces. Spaces in a state of ruination – recently a speedway stadium in the process of demotion – provide a setting that is evocative of disappearance and dissolution as well as recalling notions of duration and the evasiveness of memory.

She lives in London and is currently working towards a masters in printmaking.
