Emma O’Hara is a visual artist who works through photography, collage and screen print. She takes inspiration from everyday encounters with landscape, architecture and the urban environment. O’Hara deconstructs her surroundings and rebuilds them through the use of collage-based printmaking to highlight her environment through a new lens. By using interesting compositions, text and colour she sets an atmosphere, enabling the viewer to feel the senses she experiences when immersed within a landscape.
O’ Hara believes that there is no hierarchy of culture and celebrates all aspects of the mundane. Throughout her work she wishes to convey the disparity between the structural forms of our surroundings with re-imagined human intervention.
