Talk: Alan Kitching. A life in letterpress, A life in London

Alan Kitching RDI AGI and Hon FRCA, will be in conversation with Karoline Newman as we discuss the resurgent interest in letterpress. From the apprentice compositor to the experimental artist, Alan will cover his life's journey from Darlington, via Watford College of Art in the 1960s, to the professional print works in Clerkenwell and lately the dedicated studio in Kennington. London has been his inspiration: the source of many clients from London Transport to the National Theatre; the backdrop to his professional and private life.

Alan Kitching's A to Z of London is a limited edition of 26. Presented as a boxed set it reveals the places, parks, historic buildings and contemporary architecture that have a profound meaning for this globally acknowledged artist and exponent of the letterpress.

Karoline Newman was the co-collaborator on the development of "Alan Kitching's A to Z of London". A writer and presenter, she is also the Executive Director of the Lettering Arts Trust
