After studying at Belfast Art College in the early 1980s Moore graduated with a degree in Fine Art. During this time he was introduced to printmaking and after a career in graphic design and teaching he was keen to start printing again. Over thirty years later he enrolled on a refresher etching course at The Glasgow Print Studio and shortly afterwards became a member.
Moore’s inspiration comes from the landscape and its character and wildlife. Through his etchings and mezzotints he strives to capture its mood, beauty and atmosphere. He uses a range of techniques, particularly spit biting and aquatint to give his etchings a painterly feel.
He is a member of The Glasgow Print Studio
