Jake Cecil

Jake Cecil questions what the antithesis of a landscape could be; the Terra In-firma, and how this groundless landscape features in our present day. He is interested in the temporary space, structures, which are erected in our landscapes, such as hoarding boards, and other visual representations that have been duplicated and mass-produced in order to stand in as  ‘nature’ pro tempore.

The distinguished characteristics of Print as play a pivotal role in the artist’s practice, with everything he makes seemingly acting as a duplicate of something other.
