Joanna Larsen Burnett

Seeking to comment on the phenomenon that initial judgements create a lasting impression, this piece is from a body of work which explores the space between listening and remembering, and how our own cultural and ethical viewpoint can change the nature of a shared narrative - How what we remember from both verbal and visual communication can be shaped by our own unconscious bias.

Joanna is a printmaker using experimental processes to produce prints without the use of a press. Presently creating monotype prints as wall hung prints, assemblages and artists books, much of her work includes an element of text, usually employing a manual typewriter, and also a variety of offset relief processes from woodcuts or photopolymer plates.
