John Sextons work is an exploration of the way objects inhabit space and how that space is depicted. He does this by developing his work within a variety of drawing systems such as linier perspective, axonometric projection and atmospheric perspective. The resulting images, though lacking any direct context, can be seen at one level as possible sculptures. They could also relate to ideas around inside/ outside, the way territory is divided and our own position in and transition through space.
These images are initially constructed digitally through a drawing and collaging process and then further developed into print using photo-etching techniques.
