Lucy Smith is an experimental printmaker working with tactile natural materials and alternative processes.
She allows variations in the materials and printing process to suggest how each unique print develops. Her most recent work uses leather found close to home. Through print, a worn-out pair of school shoes becomes a Cadillac, and an un-picked pair of old sofa cushions become found landscapes, reflections, or precious items handed down through the generations.
Lucy Smith graduated from Central St Martins and works in London as part of East London Printmakers.
