Rachel is a Landscape Architect by profession, which is reflected, in her earlier works that concentrate on landscapes. But living in an increasingly urban Lewisham she has become fascinated by the every day, old, and often neglected shop fronts, and their over-looked details and beauty. Almost as an archival responsibility she has spent many years bringing back the detail and information which we daily pass by, and in most cases is gone forever.
As a tonic to the technical nature of her shop fronts, she works also with dry point on perspex, with unique monotypes. For Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair she has returned to her expressive landscapes and created a series of allotment prints.
