Ros Ford RWA, RE is a painter and printmaker based in Bristol.
Inspired by the unordered, the overlooked and the sideshows of life, her work is about functional structures and buildings that are often unnoticed.
Ford’s recent etchings are based on hidden industrial landscapes close to her home and studio as well as more recently, Wales and Italy. She makes drawings and photographs on location that are developed into series of prints and paintings.
2018 exhibitions have included the RA Summer Exhibition, and Women of the RWA as a part of Women with Vision, Royal West of England Academy. Ford was awarded the ‘Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, Venice Visiting Artist Fellowship’ with the Royal Society or Painter-Printmakers. She was selected as a contributor to the Print Rebels box-set of prints with the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers which is held in the British Museum and HRH Queen Elizabeth’s collections.
Working from BV Studios, Bristol, Ford is a recipient of multiple prizes and awards and her work is exhibited widely and is held in many international public and private.
