Russell Harris

Russell Harris graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Leeds Polytechnic in 1977 to pursue a commercial career before returning to his artistic practice choosing to concentrate on etching as a highly process driven medium. with which to return to his early interest.

One of a variable edition in a number of different colour combinations Broken bowl is based on a drawing Russell made of an exhibit in the Hong Kong Museum of History while touring China last year. The etching is composed of six separate copper plates reflecting the fractured original piece, placed loosely together on the etching bed to complete this composition of balance and depth.
