Sally Wakelin

Sally’s print subjects cross back and forth over the line between abstracted reality and pure geometry. Shadow-play and patterns seen and photographed might be rotated or reversed and cropped, geometric designs are often mathematical or architectural in origin. She has been exploring three main types of print-making, both intaglio and relief methods, traditional and Japanese woodblock, etching and aquatint, including Chine-collé.

Sallys practice includes various media - drawing, painting, sculpture and she also worked professionally in jewellery design and oil painting conservation.
