Saskia Rodriguez

Focusing on ideas such as fake and repetition, Saskia Rodriguez questions how credibility and truth values are built in our society.

“My principal objective is to generate a constant doubt of what I consider the core of our visual culture; the reproduction of the image and the confusion that this generates in consequence of over-information.
Engraving and printing have become detached from the idea of traditionalism. They have become flexible and almost transgressive.”

Rodriguez attempts to ascertain the idea of multiple-original and the original-multiple in a society in which reproducibility could be infinity. She therefore trys to modify the way we see and receive the images.

“My artwork is a graphical art proposal related to the multifaceted, complexity surrounding printing. It aims to encourage reflection when questioning our notion of today’s print.”
