Shirley Parker-Gore came late to printmaking, no formal art qualifications after a career in teaching and later, as a Board Room executive.
Her recent move to Peasmarsh, East Sussex and her regular time spent in Italy is where she draws her inspiration. Many of her stylised landscapes reflect her love of the Tuscan countryside.
“I like experiment with different forms, subjects and techniques which makes my work very varied.
I do not seek to capture the literal likeness but rather a representation or essence of the subject and I produce only a small number of original prints for each edition.”
Shirley Parker-Gore has had successful exhibitions in UK and Tuscany.
