Stephen Edwards

Steve has been an active printmaker since 2001. His current practice uses lino to create, primarily, cityscapes and landscapes. He has experimented with etching lino and enjoys the combination of the more controlled cut marks with the less controllable etched marks (printed in relief). His prints involve layering multiple blocks to build an image, using oil based inks to obtain vibrant colour, and also using extender to create transparencies which he can overlay to create complex combinations of colours and textures.

Steve's aim is not just to locate, but also to capture an emotional response to these views, juxtaposing the creations of man with the elemental.
