Yvette Blumberg’s process is grounded in her Architectural background and this has often been her starting point. Buildings take on a new representation; through printmaking they are abstracted losing their physical presence becoming two dimensional in tone and form.
This has led to further explore structures in spaces and landscapes. Blumberg continues to experiment with layering, textures, tonality and monotypes.
The process where the creativity and technicality of etching converges appeals to her; from whole to detail, from figuration to abstraction, from surface to body and space.
